Honestly, what response were Arsenal hoping for with this match programme giveaway?
Fans who purchased Arsenal’s official matchday programme for their Champions League clash against Monaco had a bit of a surprise in store. One of the pages inside the programme was dedicated to a cardboard cut out of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, which fans were encouraged to pop out, prop up and then take photos of it.
The club’s official Twitter account challenged their followers to send in their pics of their little, cardboard Wenger with the promise that they would retweet the best ones.
However, the jokesters on social media ignored Arsenal’s challenge, and instead used it as an opportunity to make gags about the ridiculousness of the whole thing.
We’d love to see your pictures of the Arsène Wenger Table Topper from tonight’s programme. We’ll retweet the best! pic.twitter.com/ER5cORANGb
