We’re only 10 games into the Premier League season but Liverpool are, dare we say it, looking a challenger.
Tied for points at the top of the league. Top of the league for shots on target (69. Nice). Top of the league for chances created (148 – 12 more than Spurs in 2nd place).
It might be a little too early in the season to be mentioning the ‘T’ word, but one thing is certain – Liverpool will be top of the league when it comes to the entertainment stakes.
The city is bouncing and the players are celebrating.
Perhaps a little bit too much…
As some haters of fun eagle-eyed viewers have pointed out, Roberto Firmino loved his stellar chip against Crystal Palace so much at the weekend, that he was off celebrating before it went in.

Firmino received a yellow card for taking his top off for celebrating under the “unsporting play” rule, BUT if one was to follow FA rules to the letter, the referee should have paused the game before the ball went in to give the yellow.
*Technically* the goal should not have stood, and there should have been a Palace free-kick instead.
As reported in the Liverpool Echo, the law reads: “If play is stopped to caution the player, an indirect free kick shall be awarded to the opposing team from the position of the ball when play was stopped.”
However, as the paper states, common sense prevailed here. As we could have created a situation where opposition players take off shirts when a striker is through on goal to halt play (although advantage could also be played).
Next time Bobby, stick to your trademark celebration. Just to be on the safe side, eh?
