You’ll never guess what: players, clubs… they’re being linked with each other.
Honestly.
It’s all going on. Again.
First up, it’s only bloody Mario Gotze. The German’s agent has been hinting to the Italian press that the midfielder could be in line for a move away from Bayern Munich and who else would be linked with a lucrative player like that but Manchester United? It seems Arsenal are also chasing Gotze’s signature though, there just aren’t enough attacking midfielders in the world. They could well just be pulling a Ramos though and negotiating more money at their current club. (Tuttosport)
Poor Inter Milan on the other hand just cannot get rid of Xherdan Shaqiri. It looks like the former Bayern winger could be on his way back to the Premier League with Everton believed to be preparing a loan move for the 23-year-old Swiss star. But what about Aiden? (Daily Star)
Aaron Lennon hasn’t been given a squad number at Tottenham Hotspur and, if you listen very carefully, you’ll hear the sound of no-one caring. But it looks like he has n0 future at White Hart Lane. We could’ve told him that a few years back. Does anyone want him? Anyone? (The Sun)
Wolfsburg, meanwhile, are holding Manchester City to ransom over Kevin De Bruyne. The Germans are demanding £45m for the 24-year-old which doesn’t seem all that inconsiderate. We can think of 49 million reasons why that’s reasonable enough.
Big Tony Pulis promised us that he wasn’t finished his spending and he’s even trying to break West Bromwich Albion‘s transfer record with a £15m bid for Salomon Rondon. You know the guy – that Venezuelan striker for Zenit that Liverpool fans wanted in ahead of Benteke. (Birmingham Mail)
And, if Atletico Madrid weren’t pissed off enough at losing their superstar gems that they unearth every season, it seems they’re in for another fight to hold onto their goalkeeper. Manchester United are preparing for the start of the league without David De Gea – by choice – so the rumour mill has rushed to quickly link them with a £25m replacement and the first name it has spat out is Jan Oblak. This week at least. (Marca)
John Stones to Chelsea is being talked about in a lot of places as well under the headline: Jose Mourinho remains tight-lipped on John Stones. We don’t even need confirmation anymore.
