Transfers: Real Madrid float Bale-for-Hazard swap deal

Saga alert

Looks like Jose Mourinho’s efforts to price Eden Hazard out of the market aren’t going to deter Real Madrid

Mourinho, half in jest we assume, slapped a £200million sticker on the newly-crowned PFA Player of the Year (£100m per leg) over the weekend, but if reports this morning are to be believed, Los Blancos’ interest in the Belgian is no laughing matter. Real’s first salvo in what we are already fearing could a be SAGA is to offer a straight swap deal involving Gareth Bale. Manchester City have been linked with a £30million move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, and once Arsene Wenger has finished dropping the England man off at the Etihad with a carton of Marlboro Lights, the Frenchman will move swiftly to cash the Abu Dhabi cheque so he can splash his windfall on Lyon striker Alexander Lacazette. The 26-year-old has been a goal machine in Ligue 1 and the Gunners are set to open the bidding at £22million. (Mirror)

Yaya Toure’s commitment to Manchester City has been in question ever since birthdaycakegate, and news that Inter Milan want to take the Ivory Coast midfielder in a package deal with his sulks and his £210,000 weekly pay packet to Serie A will be music to the club’s ears. Even better, they want to give City €8million. (Sportsmediaset)

With Patrick Bamford’s prospects of breaking into the Chelsea team next year uncertain at best, Premier League rivals are queuing up for the opportunity to help him hone his craft in the top flight next season. Suitors Crystal Palace, Southampton and Everton have been joined by Aston Villa, who will likely be seeking a replacement for leading scorer Christian Benteke. (Mail)

If you thought you’d heard the last of Bebe, you were wrong. Manchester United fans will get plenty more opportunities to be reminded of Fergie’s finest transfer coup if the Portuguese completes a return to English football with Reading. (Mirror)
