After getting rid of one Argentina international in Angel Di Maria, the transfer gossip columns claim Manchester United have their sights set on another.

The Red Devils have made a €30m transfer bid for Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia, according to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri.

United were thought to have made a €24m bid rejected by the Serie A outfit earlier this summer, but are unwilling to give up on landing the player.

Biglia has 34 caps for Argentina and currently has three years left on his contract at LAzio.

Elsewhere it looks like Liverpool have missed out on Inter Milan starlet Mateo Kovacic.

The Reds have been perpetually linked with a move for the 21-year-old attacking midfielder and reportedly had a recent €25m bid turned down by the Serie A side.

Italian paper Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting today that Real Madrid have had a €30m bid for the Croatian wonderkid accepted.

Arsenal have apparently given up on Karim Benzema and turned their attention back to Edinson Cavani, claims Spanish website fichajes.net.

The website claims Arsene Wenger isn’t willing meet Real’s €65m asking price for Benzema and is considering a €50m for the PSG striker instead.

Finally, a transfer gossip article wouldn’t be complete without something on David de Gea.

Marca are reporting that Manchester United’s goalkeeper has his heart set on a move to the Bernabeu, even though he would earn more money by extending his current contract at Manchester United.

United have supposedly offered him a lucrative new deal to try to keep him put which would see him pocket £10m more over a six-year period than he would earn if he moves to Real Madrid.

However, according to the Marca article, De Gea has made up his mind and is desperately looking to sign for the La Liga giants.  The paper also claims he has already agreed a £3.5m-a-year deal with Rafa Benitez’s side.
