The Arturo Vidal transfer saga has finally come to an end.

The Chilean footballer, who has been perpetually linked with a move to United, and more recently Arsenal, has been snapped up by Bayern Munich.

Vidal is expected to undergo a medical at the Bundesliga champions over the weekend ahead of a move from Juventus. The transfer fee is reported to be in the region of €40 million.

“I can confirm that we have reached an agreement in principle between both parties and the player,” the Bundesliga champions’ chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.

“It lacks only the medical examination and the signing of the contract. Should everything run smoothly, Arturo will start training with the club next week.”

There is some positive news for Manchester United fans on one of their other top targets, Barcelona midfielder Pedro.

His club mate Sergio Busquets has admitted that Pedro could be looking to get out of Camp Nou in order to play first-team football.

“I think that as a team-mate and friend, I would like him to stay for a long time but I understand that he has doubts. He wants to play but there is a lot of competition. In our team we have the best players and it’s very difficult.

“I hope he stays but the decision is his.”

Barcelona have given Pedro the green light to move, but only if a club are willing to meet the €31 million buy out clause in his contract.

However, it looks like United are set to miss out on another La Liga star.

Rafa Benitez said he is “100 per cent sure” Sergio Ramos will not leave Real Madrid for Manchester United this summer.

“I have a lot of respect for Louis van Gaal, but Sergio will be staying with us, He is our player, our captain. I would like to see him at the beginning of the season, because he’s a key player for us.”

It was thought that the defender might be a sweetner for Los Blancos bid for David de Gea but Rafa’s comments suggest this is definitely not the case.

Finally, we finish up with a serving of Liverpool transfer gossip.

According to reports in Italy, the Reds have enquired about the availability of Marco Reus. Italian football expert Tancredi Palmeri claims Rodgers is extremely interested in bringing the 26-year-old attacker to Anfield.

However, Liverpool would more than likely have to part with all of that sweet, sweet Sterling money in order to land the German.
