Louis Van Gaal might preparing to splash the cash to bring a Ligue 1 star to Old Trafford
Manchester United are lining up a bid for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Balasie Matuidi, according to the Mirror.
The Ligue 1 star wishes to leave France to embark on a new challenge and apparently, he sees the Premier League as the ideal location to revitalise his career.
The 27-year-old has spent his entire professional career in France, starting out at Troyes before joining PSG from St Etienne in 2011, which is why he is reportedly looking for a change of scenery.
PSG will be doing everything in their power to hold onto the box-to-box midfielder, whose contract with the French champions runs out in 2018. However, with Financial Fair Play regulations in mind, it is understood that PSG would be willing to part with Matuidi for around £25 million.
The Express are reporting that Liverpool are looking to swoop for Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Vazquez this summer.
Madrid sent the 23-year-old out on loan at Espanyol this season, where he has bagged two goals in 19 La Liga appearances.
The Catalan club do have the option to buy Vazquez at the end of the campaign, but reports in Spain suggest that Liverpool might pull off a deal to bring him to Anfield. However, Los Blancoes are unlikely to accept anything under £7 million to let Vazquez leave.
Arssene Wenger could be set to spend big to land Juventus striker Alvaro Morata, the Metro reports.
Morata, moved to Juve last summer from Real Madrid and has been in solid form in the Serie A this season, finding the net six times and making four assists in 20 matches.
Madrid have a buy-back option to re-sign him after the season finishes, but reports suggest that they will not do so.
Rumours are circulating that Juve and Real have made an agreement to let the striker join either Arsenal or Liverpool for £60million instead, in which both clubs split the transfer fee.
Liverpool and Arsenal are set to slug it out to sign Juventus goalkeeper Neto, the Express claim.
The Reds have been perpetually linked with a new shot-stopper after a slew of poor performances from Simon Mignolet during the first half of the campaign and could see the Brazilian as an ideal back-up.
Neto, who currently plays for Fiorentina, looks like he’s en route to Serie A champions Juve this summer but will almost certainly be reduced to bench-warming duty with Gianluigi Buffon keeping hold of his first team place. The Serie A holders might loan him out to gain match-playing experience.
