The Merseyside clubs are dominating today’s transfer gossip columns
Liverpool are eyeing up a move for Villarreal starlet Luciano Vietto, so the Express reports. The 21-year-old, who has been pegged as the next Sergio Aguero, has a reported £7.3m buy-out clause which Liverpool could trigger to land him.
However, Vietto’s agent Jorge Cyterszpiler is claiming that the Reds face stiff competition from some massive clubs to sign the striker.
We know that a lot of big clubs are watching Luciano Vietto.
There is a lot of competition for him. He could sign for Liverpool, we know that he is admired by the Reds, as well as Real Madrid and two Bundesliga clubs.
Liverpool are also being heavily linked with Manchester City midfielder James Milner as an affordable replacement for Steven Gerrard. The 29-year-old’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season but the Metro are reporting that Liverpool are set to swoop in to land him on a free transfer.
It had been suggested that the 53-cap England international’s exorbitant £120,000-per-week salary was putting Liverpool off. However, it is being reported that Rodgers is willing to meet Milner’s demands and the City midfielder is ready to sign a pre-contract agreement with the Reds.
Everton are eyeing-up Barcelona young-gun Sergi Roberto, according to the Mirror. The out-of-favour midfielder has been told he can leave Camp Nou this summer and Everton are leading the race for his signature.
Stoke City tried to buy Roberto in January but Barcelona blocked the transfer. Now it looks like the starlet could be getting his desired move to England with Everton.
The Guardian are reporting that Manchester United are looking to splash the cash on Porto right back Danilo. The Brazilian has a £37 million release clause on his contract which Louis van Gaal might activate.
The highly-touted 23-year-old has won 11 caps for Brazil and has been a mainstay in the Dragões‘ defence all season. However, the last player United signed from Porto was Anderson for a whopping £25 million. This doesn’t bode well for Danilo’s potential future at Old Trafford.
Turning to London, Arsenal are still waiting to hear back on an offer from Boca Juniors over wonderkid Jonathan Calleri. The 21-year-old is lauded as one of the most exciting players in South America and the Gunners are keen on bringing him to the Emirates. However, the Metro claims they’ll have to compete with Valencia, Villarreal and Inter Milan for the youngster’s signature.
