Transfer talk: Liverpool, Madrid and Celtic leading chase for Norwegian sensation

It’s getting interesting in the race for this youngster with Europe’s elite, Liverpool and Real going head-to-head.

However, Ronny Deila is adamant that Celtic too are well in the race to sign Norwegian wonder kid, Martin Odegaard.  Bless.

You’ll never guess who else they’re talking about in the transfer mill this morning?

Mats Hummels.  If you haven’t heard of him before, he’s the German World Cup-winning Borussia Dortmund defender.  And, if you have actually been living under a rock these past few months, Manchester United are going all-guns-blazing to acquire his service.  After Hummels’ heroics last night, Louis van Gaal will do whatever it takes to get his man and there’s talk of United having another fortune to spend, with Atletico Madrid midfielder Diego Godin back on their radar. The Daily Star are also reporting that United will offload Lindergaard, Nani and Anderson in January to help finance a €250m raid of the transfer market.  So, after the sale of those three, they’ll just need to find another €248m from somewhere.

Liverpool are said to be on the hunt for a replacement for Glen Johnson after the right back’s brave winner against Stoke last weekend.  A replacement for Glen Johnson?  Immediately, the only feasible replacement for Johnson would suggest that Seattle Sounders are about to be raided and Djimi Traore will be told to shape up his right foot because he’s switching flanks (and because his left is no good anyway).  Apparently Brendan Rodgers doesn’t deal with Champions League winners though so he’s settling for Barcelona full back Martin Montoya who is definitely leaving the Nou Camp this winter… allegedly.
