Another Dutch international linked to Old Trafford

There’s a whole lotta Manchester in today’s transfer gossip

Dutch international midfielder Nigel de Jong will be snubbing a transfer to Eredivisie outfit Ajax in favour of a switch to Old Trafford, according to the Daily Star.

The 30-year-old defensive midfielder joined AC Milan from Manchester City in 2012 but is set to go out of contract at the Serie A side in the summer. Reuniting with old boss Louis Van Gaal could be the perfect solution to revitalising his career.

According to the Mirror, former Paris St-Germain striker Nene has been snapped up by West Ham United. The 33-year-old Brazilian joined the Hammers on a free transfer after undergoing a medical at the club.

The goal-scoring winger had been in sparkling form for Qatar club Al-Gharafa finding the net 21 times in 44 appearances for the outfit, becoming their most prolific sharp-shooter during that period.

It’s looking increasingly likely that Arsenal and Manchester united target Benedikt Howedes will be making a move to England soon. The Mirror are reporting that the German World Cup star wants a transfer to the Premier League.

The towering centre-back, who can also play on the left side of defense won’t come cheap though. Howedes is unlikely to leave the Bundesliga club for less anything under £14.5 million.

Another defensive player could be making the switch to Old Trafford. Metro are claiming that Argentinian defender Ezequiel Garay will join the Red Devils in the next window. The centre back is apparently frustrated at his current club Zenit St Petersburg in the Russian League and sees Manchester as an ideal place to develop as a player.

United will have to contest with Juventus for Garay’s signature. The Serie A giants are also reportedly keen on signing the £18.5 million-rated centre back.

John Terry is also confident that he will remain as a Chelsea player next season. The veteran defender and club captain admitted that he has not yet held talks with the Chelsea big wigs over his future but he told Sky that he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge.

‘I want to stay and hopefully my performances are showing that, and they can keep me.

‘I will be happy to get one more year and then see how it goes. I am taking it year-by-year. I haven’t got much choice.

‘I don’t want a rest. I am coming toward the end of my career so it’s important I’m playing as much as I can and stay fit.’
