Tottenham Hotspur may have fallen short in the race for the title, but they made sure to go down swinging against Chelsea.
Another season has passed and the famous chant sung by Spurs’ rivals remains good for at least another year. The last time the North London club won the league, it was broadcast in black and white.
Spurs needed a win against Chelsea on Monday to remain in the title hunt, but the game finished a 2-2 draw after they let a 2-0 lead slip. The result saw Leicester City record a historic Premier League win.

Aside from bringing the phrase “pulling a Spurs” back into the public sphere, the game was also a bitter pill to swallow for Tottenham supporters for another reason – the nasty display on the pitch – and we’re not just talking about the shameful scenes at the end of the match (which Chelsea players also played a role in).
Spurs created history in the game by becoming the first team in Premier League history to collect nine yellow cards in a single game. Remarkably, no one was sent off, although a lot of fans felt that referee Mark Clattenburg could have shown Mousa Dembele a red for gouging Diego Costa.
Kyle Walker, Jan Vertonghen, Danny Rose, Erik Lamela, Christian Erikson, Eric Dier, Harry Kane, Dembele and Ryan Mason were all booked during the game to set a new league record.
We’re sure a DVD marking the achievement will hit the Spurs fanstore shortly.
