Liverpool’s pursuit of a new world class goalkeeper could be back to square one after AS Roma’s president James Palotta insisted that keeper Alisson Becker will not be sold this summer.
The Brazilian keeper has been closely linked with both Liverpool and Real Madrid during the majority of what has been a hugely impressive season at the Stadio Olimpico.
But any move is unlikely to happen, if the club’s president is to be believed.
“We have no intention of selling him,” he told Sky Sport Italia, before the story was picked up by ESPN. “I mean zero at all. I’m sure some people will probably come in with some bids, but I don’t have any interest in selling him, he’s a great goalkeeper.

“When we got him, I thought the same thing and as far as I’m concerned, I mean no!”
Is this bad news for Liverpool? Yes. But is it worse news for Real Madrid? Most likely.
While Liverpool have long been on the look out for reinforcements in goal, that need has been slightly lessened thanks to the flying form of Loris Karius, who has made the number one position his own since breaking into the team after a series of Simon Mignolet errors.
