Tony Pulis confirmed as new West Brom manager

The former Stoke and Crystal Palace boss will watch today's meeting with West Ham from the stands

Tony Pulis has polished off his whitest trainers, and bought up a heavy supply of West Brom baseball caps, because everybody’s favourite survival expert is back in football.

Pulis has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal with West Brom, after Alan Irvine’s departure on Tuesday.

It’s been a quick turnaround for the Baggies, who jumped on Pulis quickly with Newcastle potentially another option for the former Stoke and Crystal Palace boss, should Alan Pardew depart the Magpies.

Pulis will be in the stands for today’s meeting with West Ham, after meeting his players for the first time this morning.

And despite West Brom lying just a point off the drop zone, you’d be a brave man to back them to go down – Pulis has never been relegated in more than 20 years of management.
