Who knew referees have mottos?
Tonight’s referee in Glasgow, Milorad Mazic, has a tough job on his hands as he tries to keep order between two fiercely competitive teams.
He could have sent off Grant Hanley for hauling down Shane Long early on but equally he could have dismissed Jeff Hendrick for a dangerous enough challenge on Steven Whittaker too.
He has flashed the yellow card a few times but a few dangerous elbows from Scottish players have also gone unpunished.
But the man who sent off Pepe in Portugal’s World Cup game with Germany is well used to being unpopular and his motto, according to a Maltese paper is: ‘You can’t please everyone’.
So far so good Mr Mazic, as both sets of supporters feel hard done by right now.
