Andy Townsend’s stint as a football pundit with ITV was probably one of the most universally loathed things in football and fans got their wish today, as the former Ireland international did his last game as England beat Slovenia.
The reason for his departure is that ITV opted not to renew Townsend’s contract.
Fans often ridiculed him for his generic analysis and a lot of people marked his departure today with tweets ‘paying tribute’ to him.
