This Sunderland fan had an eerily accurate prediction for their win at Crystal Palace

This is just weird

Tom Victor

Few could have predicted Sunderland’s 4-0 win at Crystal Palace.

The Black Cats had not won away from home in the league since November, and it has been more than 12 months since they scored four on their travels.

What’s more, they were up against Sam Allardyce, the manager who preceded David Moyes in the Stadium of Light hot seat and knows the squad better than any other opposing manager.

So no one could have seen a 4-0 away coming, right? Well, not quite.

Sunderland fan @Aintainee did just that, and even went as far as explaining why he was so confident.

Admittedly there may have been some pre-match hubris at play, but there’s no knocking the accuracy of the unlikely prediction.

The tweet was sent at 7:47am, suggesting our friend might have been on his way down to the game from Sunderland.

It’s just a shame he didn’t follow one sceptic’s advice and back the scoreline at what we don’t doubt will have been very long odds.

It’s not the only unlikely prediction to come true today, though the other spot-on shout will have been a bit more bittersweet for the person who saw it coming.

A Liverpool fan, using the handle @AnfieldPyro, didn’t back the Reds to end their woeful run with victory at Hull, even with a front three of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané.

And would you believe it, another spot-on prediction was born.

How do they do it?
