This stat perfectly sums up the difference between Liverpool and Everton’s seasons

Not nice reading for the blue half of Merseyside

Robert Redmond

Roberto Martinez, look away now.

It’s no secret that Everton have struggled this season, but this stat really puts their woes into perspective.

Liverpool, like their city rivals, also had a poor first half of the campaign, but since tweaking their tactics in December, Brendan Rogers’ side have been on a great run.

So great they’ve amassed 29 points their last 11 games… that’s one point more than Everton have this entire Premier League season.

Both Meseryside teams had excellent seasons last year. Liverpool narrowly missed out on the league title and Everton were genuine challengers for a Champions League spot, amassing a club record points total in the Premier League.

This season the club currently sit 14th. Liverpool though are on the march for a return to the Champions League.
