Before we begin, let us acknowledge that the bar is pretty damned high when it comes to the most cringeworthy things to show up at or near a Premier League football ground.
Banners are often – but not always – to blame. You know, things like this. But that’s not the end of it.
You’ve also got celebrations and hashtags to choose from, while if you look beyond the Premier League we can show you plenty of songs that can lay a claim to being the best worst things around.
But back to banners.
Bournemouth might have thought that missing two first-half penalties might be the most embarrassing thing to happen to them at home to West Ham, but they were wrong.

Yes, that’s a ‘Justice for Mings’ banner, from a man who has heard of hashtags and knows what they look like, but still isn’t quite sure how you’re supposed to use them.
Same goes for the letter I, which doesn’t stop being capitalised when being used in a name, regardless of what he might think.
Perhaps the Cherries will just be grateful that it has helped take the attention away from their own complaint about the five-game suspension handed to Tyrone Mings for – let’s not forget – stamping on the head of an opponent.
Hopefully he’ll go back to the drawing board for version two of the banner. After all, you know what they say: Mings can only get better.
