Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
So Thierry Henry was bound to say something interesting eventually.
The Arsenal legend hasn’t set the world alight since becoming a pundit for Sky Sports, but he was on top form – by his own standards – when discussing the Gunners’ on Sunday afternoon.
Arsenal lost 3-4 to Liverpool at the Emirates in the season opener, and were tailing at 1-4 at one point. Following the game, Henry sympathised with the angry Gunners fans in attendance who booed the team and Arsene Wenger, and even wondered why Arsenal fans didn’t boo the team sooner.
Henry also said he wasn’t surprised by Arsenal’s loss and questioned the hunger of Laurent Koscielny, who sat out the game after being granted extended leave following Euro 2016.
The former striker then questioned whether the best players still want to play for the Gunners.
He still has a long way to go to rival Gary Neville in the punditry stakes, but, in the words of Andy Townsend, this was “better” from Henry.
