Thierry Henry could be on his way back to Arsenal yet again

Three time for good?

We’re sure he would be welcomed back with open arms

According to Arsene Wenger, Arsenal fans may see Thierry Henry back in the fold at the Emirates yet again in the not too distant future. The French striker has just one month left on his deal with the New York Red Bulls and it is widely believed that he will hang up his boots rather than seek another contract to play on.

Arsene Wenger was asked about the possibility of taking Henry back in a coaching role when he finishes in the MLS and he sounded positive. ‘It’s not impossible. I welcome people who have played for us to come back but not (for just) an honorary job. It has to be a job that is available and one where you get up in the morning and do something.’

Henry has been back to the club once before, when he had a brief playing spell in January 2012 and considering there is a statue to the man who scored 228 goals for the Gunners outside the ground, it make sense that he would begin a coaching career in north London.

Wenger did sound one note of caution when he was asked how he felt Henry would deal with one aspect of a mangement role, criticism. ‘One quality that you need is resistance to criticism when you feel it’s not justified. I don’t know how he’ll handle that.
