They miss me now: Luis Suarez says he only left Liverpool because of the English media

Ah, Luis

Nothing to do with the allure of Barcelona, Luis Suarez moved to Spain to get away from the English media. Apparently.

The Uruguayan has seemingly aimed a parting shot at his old foes – eight months after leaving – by pinning the blame on them for his departure from Anfield.

Because, otherwise, he would’ve stayed, right?

The Barcelona attacker still looks to find it surreal that someone would report on a player biting another player, or alleged racism, or a player biting another player as he levelled criticism at the media attention that came with his time in the Premier League.

Now, they miss him. And that’s why they’re still after him.

“I don’t know if there is a campaign of the English press towards me, but it can be seen that they miss me,” Suarez told beIN Sports. “They criticize me so much that they look for something that is not there to draw attention.

“They published images of me in the morning and when they saw that that was false those images disappeared off the pages. I said enough and [asked] that they leave me alone. I went because I was tired of them, but yet they are still looking [for me].”

So that’s why Suarez left. That a dream came true when he turned up at the Nou Camp was just purely coincidental. Because, remember, he didn’t want to leave.

“I am very happy at Barca, I fulfilled a dream to play at the best club in the world and now I am enjoying it,” he said.

“The family are very happy in Barcelona and enjoying a city that we knew. The children are in the school and my wife is very happy.”

Well then damn the bloody English media for causing that happiness in his life.
