Bizarrely up until today not a single Barcelona player had ever, and we mean ever, won a player of the month award.
Ok, so we confess, the awards have only been up and running in La Liga since 2013, BUT, that still means almost two years have gone without a player like Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez or Luis Suarez, picking up an individual award.

However that has finally changed as Neymar, who has scored 14 goals so far this season, picked up the gong this afternoon for his exploits in November, that included this unbelievable strike
Diego Costa was the very first winner, while Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed the award twice, with Karim Benzema also a winner.
Barca managed to win tfour trophies last season without once featuring the outstanding player in the league in a given month.
Clearly, this all-conquering team are more than the sum of their paltry parts.
