And the endless wait goes on.
The FAI told us, so it must be true, that today was to be the day that UEFA would start letting fans know whether they had been successful or not in their pursuit of Euro 2016 tickets.
Heck, even we fell for it.
As of now we have checked our bank balance, at least 18 times at a conservative estimate, but as of yet, well, there’s no sign of any money going anywhere next or near a rich UEFA pocket.
It seems we’re not the only ones, as various Irish fans, and those from many other countries, are very very frustrated with today’s long delays.
@FAIreland has anyone been informed about tickets for the euro 2016 from the Republic of Ireland yet ?

The stress brought back some painful memories for some Irish fans.
Waiting for @FAIreland to distribute the #Euro2016 tickets is more stressful than sitting the Leaving Cert 😥🙈🍀

Others could see the irony is hoping money was going out of an account for once.
Not often people check their bank account and hope there is less money in it 🙂 #EURO2016 #coybig @UEFAEURO @FAIreland #tickets

Others turned to the power of prayer.

While of course some lucky b**tards have managed to get heir hands on tickets.
Just received my #EURO2016 tickets for Italy and Ireland. Feeling lucky when I hear some #BelgianRedDevils supporters disappointement.

And the fear crept in for some.
With every day that passes in the middle of the month, it's less likely that the cashish will be there for #EURO2016 tickets. Hurry UEFA!

While we were hoping some ‘gentle persuasion’ may be the best option.
Hey UEFA, if we don't get our #EURO2016 tickets today, we're sending this guy around pic.twitter.com/EnQHsC2kxK

And others made a bloody good point
UEFA have never had to think twice to take money before, so why is it taking so long to take payment for my #Euro2016 tickets?!?!?! #COYBIG
