All those links, forget about them. Pep Guardiola cannot sign any Bayern Munich players. It’s in his contract apparently.
Even the like of Douglas Costa, who was so good in that Bayern-Juve Champions League clash this season, is off limits.
The Brazilian spoke to Globo Esporte about the possibility of joining his old boss at the Etihad and, well, it’s not an option. Not legally anyway.
“Would I be open to City if Pep called?” Costa queried. “It’s something he has in his contract, a clause that says he cannot sign any players from Bayern.”
If true, all those links with his former players will have to be cut in half and he’d have to try raiding Barcelona instead. Or just keep picking on poor Borussia Dortmund.

“If you put all Brazilian coaches together, you would get Pep,” Douglas Costa continued to pine over his old boss. “One has motivational skills, another is tactically strong. But Pep has it all.
“Pep has the magic touch. He breathes football. He still played himself quite recently. Pep always keeps inventing new things. He is magic. I hope he can win the Champions League with City.”
He should be alright then.
Especially if he just goes and buys six of the best players in the world like Tony Cascarino would have him do.
