Christy Moore pulled the house down on the Late Late Show on Friday night with one of the best Irish football anthems of all time.
‘Joxer goes to Stuttgart’ is a cult classic in this country and is up there with ‘Put em under pressure’ as one of the best Irish songs of all-time.
The lyrics paint a brilliant picture of Irish fans on the lash in Germany in 1988, and we imagine it will be something similar this summer in France.
We’re just a week away from the Ireland squad for Euro 2016 being announced, and ahead of the tournament, the FAI has today released our official anthem.
The tune is performed by Seo Linn, and the song is called ‘the Irish Roar’ which already sounds like something a lot of lads might be doing outside the Moulin Rogue next month.
The song was written by Seo Linn and James Darkin and it pays tribute to Ireland wins at various tournaments over the last 30 years, as well as a special tribute to Bill O’Herlihy.
A 30-second snippet of the tune was released by the FAI this afternoon.
