The dream lives on for Euro 2016 after we managed to avoid two of the major big guns in this morning’s draw for Euro 2016 but did get drawn with against a well-oiled Bosnia-Herzegovina outfit.
At least we avoided Ukraine and Sweden, but the one we all hoped for, Hungary, well they are going to be playing Norway.
Crud.
The dates for the games will be announced later and the reaction this morning was a mixture of joy, despair and blind confidence.
The FAI were hoping that a certain Southampton man could be a good omen for our only previous meeting
The only previous meeting between Ireland and Bosnia-Herzegovina was in Aviva Stadium in May 2012 when a Shane Long goal was the difference

The ex-pros knew it was a tricky one
So we've got Bosnia! Going to be a tough one! 🍀🇮🇪

The Irish journalists were hardly delighted
Uh oh, it's Bosnia and Herzegovina. Much the tougher of the those remaining two.

But at least their colleagues across the water were a bit more positive
Good play-off draw for Rep Ireland. Saw Bosnia against Wales and nothing for the Irish to worry about…

The game is a chance to try out a few obvious puns too.
