Lionel Messi is considering finishing his career outside Spain, according to reports in Spain.

Messi has had a lot of trouble with the tax man of late, and is seemingly in a Sisyphean battle with the Spanish tax office over unpaid dues.

Spanish radio station Cadena Cope are reporting that the Barcelona star may be considering leaving Spain and finishing his football career elsewhere as a result of his tax problems.

They claim that Messi feels that there is a campaign against him after he has been fined heavily for outstanding taxes a few times. The Argentine will now have to appear in court over alleged tax fraud, and if he’s fund guilty, both he and his father could be sentenced to a 22-month sentence in the slammer.

Considering he has been at Barcelona since he was just 13, it was expected by many that Messi would see out the rest of his career at the Camp Nou. However, that may no longer be the case.
