Will Scott Hogan play in the Premier League before he receives a call-up to the Republic of Ireland squad?
The Brentford striker is eligible to play for Martin O’Neill’s team through his Irish-born grandparents, and has been on a scoring streak in the Championship during 2016.
Hogan has scored six goals in nine games this season, including a hat-trick in a 5-0 win against Preston North End last weekend, to add to his seven goals in seven appearances last season, after returning from a serious cruciate knee ligament injury.

The 24-year-old from Salford, who was playing in non-league football three years ago, is attracting attention from a number of clubs, according to the Irish Independent and Teamtalk.
Leicester City, Hull City and Derby County are all understood to be monitoring the striker’s progress, and Swansea City are reportedly interested in making a move for him in the January transfer window.
The Welsh side have only scored four goals in five games this season.
If he’s interested in playing for Ireland, Hogan, who has been scouted by Ireland assistant manager Roy Keane, couldn’t have picked a better time to go on scoring spree.
Ireland play World Cup qualifying games against Georgia and Moldova in two weeks time, and have a free slot in the squad following Robbie Keane’s retirement.
