Brendan Rodgers and Joe Allen is one of football’s most enduring bromances.
The pair got to know each other at Swansea before reuniting at Liverpool when Rodgers signed the Welsh midfielder for £15m.
He might not have managed a single Premier League assist in three years at Anfield, but he was always The Welsh Xavi in the adoring eyes of the former Reds boss.
Rodgers has long since departed Liverpool, but the joke just kept going right into the Klopp era…

And even at Euro 2016 where Allen’s Wales did themselves proud by reaching the semi-finals. It was all Wee Joe, obviously
Yet even when Allen finally sealed a £13.5m move away from Liverpool to pastures new, signing for Stoke City, the joke just kept on rolling.
The ‘Deluded Brendan’ parody account obviously couldn’t help chipping in with a tweet about the Welsh wizard’s move to the Britannia Stadium.

But Stoke City were not going to be outdone on this most auspicious of occasions, and fired a cheeky tweet back from their official account to Deluded Brendan.
He's ours now 😘 #SCFC https://t.co/w4O5YJ7bN1

Brendan isn’t the only one who is going to be missing Allen after his four-year stint at Anfield came to an end.
The Anfield faithful are obviously going to miss the pint-sized 26-year-old who signed a five-year deal at Stoke…even if it is because they’re going to have to find a new joke.
I'm actually gutted to see Joe Allen go, hope he has a great career #WelshPirlo
