Steven Gerrard is seemigly settling well in post-Liverpool life.
The midfielder has yet to play for new side LA Galaxy, but he’s already showing promise in his new sideline gig as a TV pundit.
It was announced yesterday that the former Liverpool captain will be part of BT’s Champions League coverage and, at the launch event, Gerrard spoke about the situation at his old club.
Assistant manager Colin Pascoe, and coach Mike Marsh, have been sacked by Liverpool, despite being long-time colleagues of Brendan Rodgers, and despite not being the ones who signed Mario Balotelli. Gerrard said that he was ‘very surprised’ by the decision, taken after talks between the Liverpool manager and club owners Fenway Sports Group last month, and now he wants clarity on the decision.
‘I am very interested to see who he puts in alongside him and also to hear Brendan speak in a press conference to see why he has decided to make those decisions,’ Gerrard said.
‘I think Brendan and the bosses have made those decisions and I’m looking with a keen interest to see who he puts alongside him and how he tries to improve or strengthen his staff moving forward.’
‘I don’t have that relationship with Brendan anymore where I might have got a bit of a nudge on it.’

Gerrard also spoke about what was a frustrating final season at Anfield, and how he hopes the team will be strengthened this summer.
‘Now I’m on the outside looking in I hope they strengthen in a few areas and make the team competitive in the league and we can break back into the top four positions. Everyone is hurting and are frustrated at how last season went.’
