Stephen Kenny is going to have to get his clothes sewn together like Ralph Wiggum’s mittens
The curious case of Stephen Kenny and his mislaid jumper captivated not just Ireland, but the world, back in 2013. The Dundalk gaffer lost the item of clothing at Panama Cafe on the Market Square and after an extensive campaign, the jumper was eventually reunited with the manager.
Now, almost unbelievably, Kenny has done it again. Yet again Kenny left the item in the Panama Cafe, and yet again he has been reunited with the mislaid garment.
The Dundalk Democrat has the scoop and owner of the cafe Stephen Egan has some solid gold quotes on this latest tale of mislaid tailoring.
“Stephen came in for his cappuchino and his Greek yogurt at around 10.30am. I didn’t give it a second thought to be honest,” Mr Egan told the paper. “It’s a normal enough occurance.”
“Another one of the patrons, Neil Ford, saw the coat and said ‘Did Stephen Kenny leave his coat behind him?’ It was at that stage that I knew something was wrong.”
“He has a big match against St Pat’s this evening and there was an eclipse this morning. I don’t know if one or both of those had an influence on this second incident.”
Thankfully, someone was sent to reunite Kenny with his coat and an international hunt for the coat doesn’t have to be raised.
What a relief…
