Leicester City missed the chance to go into the new year as Premier League leaders as Manchester City held them to a goalless draw at the King Power Stadium.
It was an open game, by no means as boring as some other goalless affairs have been this season, but the relative lack of goalmouth action meant more time for Twitter wisecracking.
Admittedly, much of it focused on Raheem Sterling’s haircut.

Sterling looks like a randomised pes character

Jamie Vardy had one of the best chances of the first half, and a few weeks ago he’d have been nailed on to put it away.
Things have changed, though. Maybe for good.
Am prepared to bet Vardy will not score another goal this year.

Maybe Jamie Vardy has already scored all his goals.

And some people thought they’d worked out the secret to the Foxes’ success.

But while Vardy and Mahrez struggled to replicate their early-season form, one man continued to impress.
Today has also confirmed that I love N'Golo Kante more than my own family.

The visitors might have been given a chance to take the lead in the second half when Sergio Aguero went down in the box under Gokhan Inler’s challenge.
It’s safe to say Leicester’s Twitter account saw things very differently.
63 – Great tackle by Inler to dispossess Aguero in the box. Penalty appeals are ignored. #LeiMnc

That let-off prompted Leicester to go for broke.
Ulloa for Inler. Claudio won't hold back anything. And he'll walk away a fool or a king.

In the end they couldn’t find a breakthrough, but some people looked for the positives in that.
Leicester, welcome to the world of low-scoring, top-end Premier League clashes.

Neither side can be too unhappy with the result, though the longer-term signs might concern Manuel Pellegrini a little more.
Leicester have lost three league games since April. Not bad considering they were bottom of the Premier League at the time.
