Slaven Bilic is trying to calm West Ham’s fans giddy excitement.
The club look like a completely different outfit this season as the Croat has Hammers fans dreaming of European football and whisper it, maybe even the Champions League.
The London outfit have recorded a series of impressive away wins at Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea this campaign and are sitting just a few points off the summit after the halfway mark.
The club are currently in fifth position and just one point behind fourth placed Tottenham ahead of their clash with Newcastle on Saturday.
Bilic is trying to play down the growing expectation in the club, but is also using a very modern approach to dating to try and keep his players focused on having the best season they can.
It’s all about confidence you see.
“If you take a driving test and say ‘I can’t do it’ of course you’ll fail. If you’re approaching a girl in a nightclub and you think she’s gonna tell you off and all that, no chance.
“But if you’re positive, you have a chance for the Champions League or whatever – top ten or staying up.”
