It comes after footage, obtained by The Mirror, showed him spitting in the direction of a car containing a 14-year-old girl and her father.
Jamie Carragher will reportedly hold talks with Sky Sports today following the release of footage of him spitting out of his car, following Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat against Manchester United on Saturday.
The former Liverpool player, who now works as a football pundit, apologised for his actions yesterday, calling his behaviour ‘unacceptable’.
Writing on Twitter he said: “Totally out of order and I’ve apologised personally to all the family this evening. I was goaded 3/4 times along the motorway while being filmed and lost my rag. No excuse apologies.”

In the footage, recorded on a mobile phone, the 14-year-old United supporter’s father is heard talking to Carragher about the game. The father then repeatedly mentions the score, to which he responds “alright”, before then spitting in the direction of the car.
The footage ends after the girl says to her dad that the spittle hit her in the face.
Following the incident, a Sky Sports spokesperson told the BBC: “It’s unacceptable behaviour and we will be addressing it with Jamie.”
Carragher has worked as a football pundit for Sky since his retirement from football in 2013, he is also a columnist for the Daily Telegraph having previously written for the Daily Mail.
