That trip to Boston is looking more ominous for Brendan Rodgers
What had simply been a disappointing season for Liverpool ended in utter disarray as the once mighty Merseysiders were brought to their knees by Stoke.
Steven Gerrard had his moment, scoring a second-half goal that brought both sets of fans to their feet on his final Liverpool appearance, but the contest was long put to bed by a rampant home side, who led 5-0 at the break after some shocking Liverpool defending.
Liverpool’s owners, FSG, have thus far pledged their support for Rodgers, but the manager’s annual performance review in Boston will likely take on a less sympathetic tone after a spineless display.
My telly must be knackered. It says 5-0 now.

One more Stoke goal and Liverpool end the season with their worst ever goal difference since 1965. When GD wasn't even a thing.

#LFC players saving everyone a debate about whether or not rodgers is the man to lead the club. Disgrace today.

@SportsJOEdotie Not sure who's fans I feel for the most in 2nd half. Newcastles, Hulls or Liverpools…

Chelsea and Utd have both made 3 (Opta-defined) errors leading to goals this season. Liverpool have made 3 today.

'You're getting sacked in the morning' chant the Stoke fans.
Never seen anything as bad as this from #LFC. Totally spineless.— James Pearce (@JamesPearceLFC) May 24, 2015
Now the worst defeat in Premier League history for Liverpool. 6-1

LFC could still salvage something from 14-15 by teaming up w HBO to make a one-hour documentary special out of rodgers' performance review

At least one person will have reason to smile. Raheem Sterling’s agent Aidy Ward has been castigated for his handling of his client’s apparent desire to leave the club, but the less than favourable reception from the travelling fans could only harden the player’s resolve to leave Anfield.
