Setanta announce new deal to secure European and Premier League football for coming seasons

That’s our Saturday night’s sorted from now on.

All the TV sports news is happening this week, and it seems for football fans who enjoy nothing more than getting their Saturday night off to a sporting start then Setanta have very good news today.

The Irish broadcaster has announced that they have secured the rights to the Saturday evening games from next season, which includes 28 games per campaign,  while crucially European action will also be available via the BT Sports package.

That means that all the European action on Tuesday and Wednesday across BT Sport 1 HD, BT Sport 2 HD, and BT Sport Europe channel.

That will still only  be available to Irish customers as part of the Setanta deal, while the station has also committed to future coverage of the Europa League as well as rugby.

And ahead of Conor McGregor’s title showdown with Jose Aldo next month you’ll be able to see all the action from UFC 194 on Setanta.

Earlier today Sky announced that they have also inked a deal for Premier League games to be shown at 3pm on Saturdays.
