Sergio Aguero out for just four weeks with knee injury

Relief for Pellegrini, but it still sucks for Fantasy Football managers

Manchester City fans will be breathing a huge sigh of relief

The all-knowing yellow ticker of Sky Sports News has brought something approaching brightness to the lives of Manchester City fans today. When star man Sergio Aguero limped out of Saturday’s clash with Everton with a busted knee, it looked bad, and the fear was that the striker had done some serious damage.

A nervous 48 hours has passed but the good folks at Sky say their sources say that the Argentinian will be put for a minimum of four weeks. That means Aguero will miss the trip to play Roma this week, followed by Premier League game against Leicester, Crystal Palace, West Brom, Burnley and Sunderland.

All told, that is not the most fearsome run of games and you would expect City to manage to win most if not all of those games with their other strikers.

City’s tough run begins on January 10 when they play Everton again, before hosting Arsenal on January 18 and then the massive trip to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea on January 31.

If Aguero’s recovery time does slip, them Manuel Pellegrini will begin to worry but if you had to lose your best player for any four-week spell, this might be it.

However, don’t forget to spare a thought for the countless Fantasy Football managers who have been robbed of who knows how many points from Aguero over that run of games. Sigh…
