Seemingly, everyone wasn’t delighted to see the back of Sepp Blatter as Fifa president.
The Sepptic tank himself announced on Tuesday that he would be stepping down from the position amid a corruption controversy in football’s governing body. This came just days after he was re-elected for his fifth term as supreme overlord of the organisation.
The reaction on social media was one of pure joy, but when Blatter addressed his Fifa staff members on Wednesday, he got a very different response.
I'm told Sepp Blatter received a 10 minute standing ovation from approximately 400 Fifa staff when he addressed them earlier today.

Blatter is said to have been close to tears throughout the 10 minute applause. Staff gathered in the main auditorium to listen to his speech

Admittedly, this could be interpreted two ways. Either the ludicrously long standing ovation was the employees way of paying tribute to their leader’s decades of service, and Blatter was so taken aback by it that he was moved to tears.
Or, like everyone else, Fifa were so ecstatic by the fact that they finally got rid of Blatter that it caused them to react in such an extreme manner and Blatter was so saddened by this that he began weeping.
I guess we’ll never know what really happened.
