It’s never dull in Zurich.
Well it might be – we’ve never been – but the Fifa offices have been a hotbed of activity, intrigue and pretty much everything you could ask for in a political thriller over the last few months.
And today events appeared to take yet another dramatic twist in the now long-running saga surrounding outgoing Fifa President Sepp Blatter.
It was reported around teatime on Wednesday that the Swiss had been given a 90-day suspension by a Fifa Ethics Committee
Sepp Blatter has been suspended by FIFA for 90 days. It's a start, folks. It's a start.

But in classic Fifa fashion this evening it’s now being reported that Blatter knows noting about any suspension and the whole thing is just idle speculation.
Understand Michel Platini's office not informed of any judgment from ethics committee. @Tim_Roehn reports MP also has provisional 90 days

His lawyers have released a statement this evening as well suggesting all the reports could be wide of the mark.
“We issue this statement in response to press reports about the FIFA Ethics Committee.
“President Blatter has not been notified of any action taken by the FIFA Ethics Committee.
“We would expect that the Ethics Committee would want to hear from the President and his council, and conduct a thorough review of the evidence, before making any recommendation to take disciplinary action.”
It’s probably bad though when a turkey is defending you:
It's DISGRACEFUL the way the media are treating poor Sepp Blatter he's the Charles J Haughey of the football world.#seppblatter #justice
