Seamus Coleman was all anyone could talk about during the first half of the Merseyside derby

Running riot

Breaking – Seamus Coleman is a great right back.

At the midway point of the Merseyside derby, the score remains 0-0 it was not for a want of trying from the Everton full back.

Coleman marauded down the right flank at will throughout the opening 45, beating every man in his way for pace and whipping in menacing crosses seemingly each and every time.

Everton v Liverpool - Premier League

The tireless runs from the Republic of Ireland captain kept Liverpool on the back foot for large portions of the opening half of action but nobody could find the breakthrough.

Coleman was recently awarded a place in the all-time Merseyside derby combined XI by Reds legend Didi Hamann which is a big call to make but one which will get no arguments from us.

And after a first half of pure desire from Killybegs’ finest, Coleman was all that anybody wanted talk about.
