Saido Berahino’s season to forget is potentially about to get a whole lot worse.
The England under-21 striker began the campaign by being denied a move away from West Brom, while he has spent much of the season frozen out of the first-team under Tony Pulis.
He was handed a rare start in the win at Everton, but could now face another spell on the sidelines – and this time it would be all his own doing.
According to the Daily Mirror, Berahino could face a retrospective ban after kicking out at Toffees midfielder James McCarthy off the ball.
The incident occurred during the first half of West Brom’s 1-0 win, but was seemingly missed by officials.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez saw the incident, describing it as a “stamp”, and if retrospective action is taken Berahino could find himself out of action for up to three games.
