Ryan Giggs’ next move will be a fascinating one.
Does the Manchester United legend maintain his ‘one club man’ reputation by staying put at Old Trafford or does he cut his ties with the club to pursue a managerial career of his own?
Reports emerged on Monday that, following Louis van Gaal’s sacking, Ryan Giggs would be out of a job but that may not be the case.
Sky Sports are reporting that incoming manager Jose Mourinho is set to offer the Welshman a role on his coaching staff but it would require a demotion for Giggs, who was assistant manager under van Gaal, as Mourinho wants Rui Faria as his second in command.

Would it be wise for Giggs to stay at United? Wales manager Chris Coleman is not so sure.
Giggs’ fellow countryman believes that the former winger may be better off leaving the club at which he has attained icon status so that he can flourish amid the freshness of a new project.
“He’s a legend at United, but if he goes somewhere else he may find that little bit of a spring in his step,” Coleman said.
“He’s a determined character and it could work in his favour coming away from something he’s known for so long because you can get a bit stale.
“I’m not saying that he has, but it might be a bit of a kick-start for him.”
Giggs has been at Manchester United since 1987 and moved from youth product to first team regular before taking charge of four games in 2014 after David Moyes was sacked.
He has had to be content with an assistant’s role under van Gaal but Coleman believes that Giggs has what it takes to make it as a top-flight manager.
“Has Giggsy got what it takes? Yes, definitely,” he said.
“He’s quite quiet, but underneath that there is a very determined and strong character and a person the players will like.
“He’s got all that experience working with Moyes and van Gaal, and obviously his time with Fergie as well, and could definitely do the job.
“Man United is a massive job. So maybe he would be better going and cutting his teeth somewhere else and proving he has what it takes to then go back there.”
