Friday night, Dalymount Park, Bohs and Rovers kickstart the League of Ireland season with what promises to be a firecracker opener.
RTÉ have released a promo video ahead of the new campaign and it’s safe to say that it is electric.
The video shows the true passion of fans who are connected with the League of Ireland. It shows the atmosphere and stories that come with these games and it shows the hardcore, the ones who go and support their local team on a week to week basis to cheer on their local players.

Obviously there are problems with the League of Ireland. Obviously attendances could be increased even further and there’s always a fight for the general interest of the nation when there’s always a massive football following there.
But, every season, the league is showing off more and more gems and, every year, there are more heads turning.
Videos like this will get more out following their local League of Ireland club this season and bring a lot more hype to the for the opening Friday for the season.
Attendences have been on the rise over the last two season with an increase of 25% in the 2017 season with promotional videos done by the likes of RTÉ playing a part in the increase gates.
On Friday, the Bohemains and Shamrock Rovers game on Friday evening at Dalymount Park is sold out but it will be broadcast live for those at home.
