Roy Keane sums up why Paul Pogba has played better for France than he does for Man United

He has a point

Paul Pogba has impressed at the World Cup during France’s run to the final.

Pogba has been disciplined and diligent in a rigid French team that prefers to play on the counter-attack. He has looked a more dependable midfielder than the Pogba Manchester United fans have watched over the past two years.

The presence of N’Golo Kante beside him has helped, and France are a team with very few obvious weaknesses, but Pogba has certainly played his part. The United midfielder performed particularly well in the semi-final victory over Belgium. He was defensively sound and Jose Mourinho even complimented his performance. The pair haven’t always seen eye to eye at Old Trafford, but Jose praised Pogba’s “mature” display – which bodes well for next season.

On ITV before Sunday’s World Cup final between France and Croatia, the panel of pundits were full of praise for Pogba’s performances in Russia. Roy Keane claimed that Pogba is playing better for France than he has for United because he appears happier in the national team.
