Roy Keane couldn’t resist a cheeky dig at Tottenham after Manchester United’s 3-1 FA Cup win against West Ham United on Wednesday.

Keane was a part of the ITV punditry team who saw Man United come from a goal behind to book their place in the quarter-finals and set up a home tie against Fulham for a place in the last four.

Saïd Benrahma gave the away side the lead in controversial circumstances after Tomáš Souček looked to have controlled the ball while it was out of play, only for VAR to confirm that the whole ball hadn’t gone out.

Man United were brought back level after Nayef Aguerd headed the ball into his own net before late goals via Alejandro Garnacho and Fred made sure of the win.

Speaking after their defeat at Old Trafford, Keane didn’t hold back in his assessment of West Ham’s defending, labelling it as “useless” while also comparing them to Spurs in a cheeky jab.

When asked if West Ham could have gone on to cause an upset, he said: “No, it never happens, seen it all before.

“They come, they get a bit giddy, they have opportunities.

“Loads of teams, not just West Ham, the Spurs’ of this world, they come to Old Trafford, they have a little bit of possession, one or two chances, they’re all excited.

“They get plaudits, then they end up getting beaten. I’ve seen it over the years, it’s laughable.”

Tottenham didn’t fare much better in their own FA Cup tie as they were knocked out by lower-league opposition at Sheffield United.
