Belgium may pin these quotes to the wall.
Roy Keane has previous with Eden Hazard. The Republic of Ireland assistant manager wasn’t impressed with Hazard’s performances for Chelsea last season, and his hints at wanting a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Back in February, Keane referred to the Belgium captain as:
“A talented, talented boy but his attitude, even last night, he’s like a spoilt child. It’s absolutely ridiculous.”
When the subject of Hazard was raised at Wednesday’s Irish team press conference, ahead of Saturday’s game between against Belgium, Keane reiterated how he’d kick a player like the Belgian number 10 who has been seeking a transfer.
“If I had a team-mate who was constantly talking about leaving then I would kick them in training,” the 44-year-old said.
However, Keane conceded that he would have kicked a player in training, regardless of whether they wanted to leave the club or not.
“But I kicked most players in training, even those who didn’t want to leave.”
It appears Keane enjoyed kicking people.
