“I had to write some important notes.”

Roy Keane has revealed what he wrote down in his notes after Harry Kane scored for England against Senegal in the World Cup.

The Three Lions beat Senegal 3-0 in the last 16 last Sunday. Harry Kane scored England’s second goal of the night, and the ITV cameras captured the reaction of their pundits covering the game.

Former England internationals Ian Wright and Gary Neville celebrated the goal, while Keane was spotted scribbling down some notes.

Keane has since told Sky Bet what he wrote down in his notes. The Irishman appeared alongside Neville and Micah Richards as the pundits caught up in Qatar.

The former Manchester United captain wrote down ‘game over’ when Kane scored.

Keane: “What do you want me to do? I had to write some important notes.”

Neville: “Him and Wrighty both write notes during the game. I don’t know why I don’t do it,” Neville said.

Keane: “I wouldn’t say notes…

Neville: “Little pointers aren’t they? I grabbed his notes. It didn’t go down well… He wrote, ‘Game over!’ I was going to put it up to the camera and he snatched it out of my hand!

Keane: “It was game over!”

England went on to win the match 3-0, with Bukayo Saka and Jordan Henderson scoring England’s other goals. Gareth Southgate’s side face France in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
