Eamon Dunphy said the Republic of Ireland should get Brendan Grace to do the team’s press conferences.
The RTE pundit slated Roy Keane’s role with the team last week, questioning his coaching contribution to the side, and said Ireland would be better served with another assistant manager, and a comedian to do press duties.
However, while we’re not privy to Keane’s coaching methods, there’s no doubt his press conferences are still box office.
Keane spoke on Friday for the first time since Ireland’s dramatic win over Italy, and didn’t take kindly to being described as “emotional” at the final whistle.
Roy Keane told he looked emotional after the Italy game:
"I was happy. It's called being happy. You should try it"#COYBIG

He also had a quip for the translator.

Keane was asked again about being happy at the final whistle of Wednesday’s game, with some seemingly considering the sight of the former Manchester United captain being happy as a rare as a solar eclipse.
Keane asked about being happy again and being close with Martin O'Neill
"I'm close with a lot of people. You'd be surprised"

He also revealed he likes to hug his dogs.
"I'm always hugging people. There's just usually no people around. I'm always hugging my dogs"

But he doesn’t like being tagged as an “underdog” ahead of Sunday’s game against France.
Keane asked about underdogs…
"Underdogs? Who do you mean by underdogs?"
