Time waits for no man and, sooner or later, Robbie Keane will have to embrace the prefix that separates players and ex-players.
Keane turned 36 in July and, shortly afterwards, he played his last game in the green of the Republic of Ireland.
And despite the fact that he’s been named MVP of LA Galaxy at the end of each of the last four seasons, it’s believed that his days in Los Angeles are numbered.

Keane is expected to lose his designated player status at the Galaxy when the current MLS season comes to an end and rumours of Wayne Rooney moving to the club have further fuelled speculation that Keane might be on his way out.
But the veteran Irish striker has already taken measures to ensure he’s kept busy whenever he does decide to hang up his boots for good.
Keane revealed on Friday night that he had successfully completed his A and B Uefa coaching licences.

Keane assured his followers that this was not to suggest that he would test the managerial waters any time soon but it’s always good to see a professional preparing for life after they’ve played their last game.
Future Republic of Ireland manager anyone?
