Robbie Keane and Lionel Messi the big winners at glitzy LA awards bash

He'll need a second mantlepiece

Kevin McGillicuddy

We hope he had a chat with Ronda Rousey.

All the talk today might be about Caitlyn Jenner and Ronda, but you may have missed the fact that Robbie Keane was also at last night’s ESPY awards.

The Dubliner was named Best MLS Player as he took on and beat fellow nominees such as Seattle Sounders’ Obafemi Martins, New England Revolution’s Lee Nguyen, and New York Red Bulls’ Bradley Wright-Phillips.

The Ireland captain was given the gong for his performances for LA Galaxy last season when he scored  19 goals and helped in 14 others as well as scoring the winning goal in the MLS Cup Final.

Robbie was accompanied by his wife Claudine and the two of them looked only gorgeous on the red carpet.

The other big footballing winner on the night was Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
